The Happy Tree Friend is inspired by the angle poise task light 1933/34. The aesthetic, emotional and intellectual connotations of the classic shape are augmented by application of naturally grown wood to draw a contrast between natural shapes and technical lines within one object. Metal parts are powder coated. Their color matching will always be specific to the bark of the tree wood used and will either compliment of contract its color. The material ages between 12 and 224 months before it will be processed and transformed into a light. Each piece is quipped with a number plate that shows the geological coordinates of the donator-tree’s location, serial number and date of production.
